Data must stay in place—how do you add governance for agents?

Moving data to an external “governance platform” before running agents conflicts directly with data residency, private deployment, and sovereignty requirements. The workable path: deploy governance in the environment where the data already lives; agents access data in-domain; the governance service gates actions instead of shipping corpora outbound.

ApproachOutcome
Move data to external SaaS, then governWidens the egress surface; compliance cost moves earlier
Deploy governance next to the dataAction gates and audit stay in-domain

Agent Forge supports private deployment: sessions and audit live in your database; the file sandbox can use in-domain MinIO/S3; multi-tenancy uses RLS for row isolation. See file sandbox, multi-tenancy and RLS, and deployment verification.

Model calls may still leave the domain toward an LLM provider—that is model traffic, not the same problem as relocating an enterprise corpus into a governance SaaS. Provider choice and gateway policy need a separate decision.
